Family & Pet Friendly Accomodation
As the day comes to an end, you may find yourself enjoying a family barbeque dinner, all surrounding a beautiful campfire, while taking in the stars above in the night sky.
At Big Bell Farm, we pride ourselves on being a carbon-neutral place. We consume as little energy as possible, and offset any remaining carbon emissions by planting more trees around the farm.
Accessibility is no issue for us, as we also provide wheelchair access with some of our cabins.

A Bell for Ursli
One of Switzerland’s most famous children’s book is called “A bell for Ursli” (in Swiss German: Schellenursli). The book tells the story about a boy who lives in the Engadine mountains in Switzerland. All through the summer in the Engadine Mountains of Switzerland the cattle feed in the mountain meadows, carrying bells round their necks. The calves have little bells and the cows have big ones. When they come into their sheds for the winter the bells are taken off. In March when winter is over,… It was written in 1945 by Alois Carigiet.
When we lived in Switzerland, our children Ruben und Ben would love the story of Ursli and his bell. That is one of the reasons why we brought four copies of the book with us when we moved from Switzerland to Australia. In each of our four holiday cabins on the Big Bell Farm in Kangaroo Valley you can find a copy of the book. Feel free to flick through the pages and the images to learn more about this genuine Swiss story. We hope that you and your children enjoy the book “A bell for Ursli” as much as we and our boys did back in
Switzerland.
